Flight Information

The closest airport is Bradley International Airport (BDL). Bradley International Airport is marketed as the “no hassle” alternative to the New York City airports. It is served by all major airlines and is roughly 1 hour from New Haven.

New York's JFK (JFK) or LaGuardia (LGA) airports may offer more inexpensive flight options, and each is roughly 2 hours from New Haven.

To get from an airport to New Haven, you can take a shuttle, Uber, or rent a vehicle.

Driving Directions

From I-95 North
Take Woodward Ave. exit, Exit 50. At the third traffic light, go right onto Townsend Avenue. Follow Townsend until you reach Lighthouse Road. Turn right onto Lighthouse Rd. The entrance to Lighthouse Park is at the end of the street, on the left.

From I-95 South
Take the Frontage Rd. exit, Exit 51, toward US-1/Lighthouse Pt. Stay straight to go onto Frontage Rd/Saltonstall Pkwy. Frontage Rd/Saltonstall Pkwy becomes Forbes Ave. Turn left onto Townsend Ave./CT-337. Turn Right onto Lighthouse Rd. The entrance to Lighthouse Park is on the left.

From CT-8 South
Take the CT-34 exit, Exit 15 toward Derby/New Haven. Turn right onto CT-34 E/Main St. Turn slight right onto Derby Ave./CT-34 E. Turn right onto Ella T Grasso Blvd/CT-10/CT-34. Turn left onto Legion Ave/CT-34 E. Merge onto CT-34 E via the ramp on the left toward College St. Merge onto I-95 N and continue to follow directions above for I-95 N.

Invited guests are not charged park entrance or parking fees. As you enter the park continue straight after the ticket booth stop, following the green signs to “Carousel Parking.” Go right into the directed lot (surrounded by colored concrete blocks). Drive to the far end of the directed lot (the lighthouse can be seen in the distance to your left), park your vehicle and walk to the RED GATE on the access road. You can either take the golf cart shuttle at the gate or walk straight down the road to the carousel building. Guests with special needs can be dropped off directly in front of the carousel building. The carousel building is the large white building near the lighthouse.
